Experimental Analysis of Hysteresis in the Motion of a Two-Input Piezoelectric Bimorph Actuator

This article presents a comparison of hysteresis courses in the motion two-input actuator (bimorph) and single-input (unimorph). The was based on results laboratory numerical experiments, subject which an built three layers: carrier layer from glass-reinforced epoxy laminate two piezoelectric layers Macro Fiber Composite. were glued together, electrodes Composite connected to system that included analogue/digital board voltage amplifier. main purpose this research compare characteristic points curves displacement bimorph with unimorph actuator. Based results, it noticed that, bimorph, maximum mean values increase faster than beam tip. However, input voltages for loops—voltage corresponding tip hysteresis—are almost same unimorph. From practical point view, is better choice compared applications high changes frequencies appear.
